Since 1967

Welcome to Royal Sutton Cycling Club

Today, we're all about Time Trialling – one of the simplest and most accessible forms of cycle racing. It's just you, your bike and the clock.

Throughout the season we run our popular Tuesday evening Time Trials on local courses around the Sutton Coldfield area. Whether you're racing for the win, chasing a personal best or simply giving it a go, there's a place for you on our start line. Whatever your experience or ability, everyone is welcome.

You don't need a time trial bike, expensive equipment or years of racing experience to take part. A road bike is absolutely fine. Our events attract everything from experienced racers chasing fast times to riders taking on their very first race.

Alongside our racing, we occasionally get together for relaxed Sunday morning club rides – a chance to enjoy the bike, get some miles in and catch up away from the stopwatch.

Come and give it a go

We know that turning up to a cycling club or your first race can feel a little intimidating. That's why you don't need to be a member to come along and see what Royal Sutton is about.

We're a friendly local club based in Sutton Coldfield, and we're always happy to see new faces. Come along, have a ride, set yourself a time and see if you can beat it next week.

Your bike. Your time. Your challenge.

Keith & Joan Edwards: Our Roots

Royal Sutton Cycling Club was formed in 1967 by Keith and Joan Edwards, who championed cyclo-cross events in Sutton Park. Their vision established a legacy of competitive cycling across North Birmingham.

From these beginnings, the club fostered a wide range of disciplines, from road races and time trials to track and mountain biking, always welcoming new riders to the start line.

Future Stars

Club youngsters have the opportunity to race abroad and be part of British Cycling's Talent Team, identifying the stars of the future.
